Galveston Bay Invasive Species

The Invasive Species Work Group was established to coordinate invasive species management in Galveston Bay.  In 2002, a comprehensive risk assessment of threats posed by invasive species present and expected to appear in the Galveston Bay area was completed.

Several important projects were conducted on invasive-species control, research, and public outreach.

An outcome of this effort is a field guide to invasive plants and animals in the bay area, and distributed over 8,500 copies to nurseries and landscape managers, academia, and public.
