The Galveston Bay Estuary Program’s Tenth State of the Bay Symposium is a regional event committed to the ecological and economic interests in the Galveston Bay Watershed. The goal of the event is to advance knowledge and understanding of Galveston Bay and its associated habitats, their importance and value, as well as the role stakeholders play in creating an economically and environmentally sustainable region.

Who Should Attend?
Everyone! Over 100 businesses, natural resource agencies, local governments, universities, and non-profits are represented at each symposium. Citizens, educators, and representatives from commercial and recreational fishing, and ecotourism attend too.

About the State of the Bay Symposium
In addition to coordinating implementation of resource management actions in The Galveston Bay Plan, the Estuary Program serves as a clearinghouse for Galveston Bay related activities and information. The State of the Bay Symposium is an important component of that.

The event provides local, state, and national experts, resource managers, scientists, industry representatives, regulators, policymakers, and stakeholders an opportunity to interact and share successes, challenges, and the latest research.
