Galveston Bay Estuary ProgramIf your company is located in the Houston-Galveston area, it probably lies within the Galveston Bay Watershed.  How you operate your business potentially affects the bay and its inhabitants.  Therefore, you play a vital role in the protection and restoration of local bayous, rivers and ultimately, the bay.

What can industry do to help Galveston Bay?

  • Reduce non-point pollution sources such as runoff from non-process areas, storage areas and other industrial land uses.
  • Implement storm water programs.
  • Prevent degradation of bay waters by known industrial ground water plumes.
  • Promote beneficial uses of dredged material to restore and create wetlands.
  • Become an Estuary Program partner.
